What Happens When You Don’t Wear Motorcycle Gear

So what happens when you don’t wear your motorcycle gear anyway? Ideally, nothing happens, however, this video breaks down what could happen to riders who don’t follow ATGATT (All The Gear, All The Time). The video is a simulation and explanation of what could happen to you (not me, just you) if you don’t wear your motorcycle gear. It includes dialogue from a surgeon, a motorcyclist, and a special effects make up artist. The video is designed to scare you straight into a one piece leather unitard and full face helmet faster than you “ouch!”

Have a look.

About YouMotorcycle

YouMotorcycle is a lifestyle motorcycle blog to be appreciated by those who see motorcycling as a lifestyle and not simply a hobby, sport, or method of transportation. Most of the posts on the site are written by past and present motorcycle industry staff. We remain fiercely independent, innovative, and unconventional. Our goal is to encourage more people to enjoy the world's greatest outdoor sport by helping new riders get started and inspiring current riders to get out more. We motorcycle, do You?

  1. And, unfortunately, at the end of the video, although he’s now wearing a helmet….he hops on his bike…..and promptly takes off without doing a shoulder check! DOH!
Oh well…..if he gets clipped, at least he’s got a little more protection now.

    • LOL I noticed something awkward in the ride away, I thought it was that he starts riding, and then sort of stops, kind of like “OK guys, is that all you need to shoot this clip?” – but maybe someone was coming and he noticed in his mirrors… because, like you said… he didn’t shoulder check first! *face palm*

What do you think?
