Sometime last year I got together with Wobblycat and Mark Gornik and took part in something amazing. Us three lucky guys found two extremely talented and beautiful young women who started contorting and making our jaws drop literally all day long. The performers were Danielle and "G". Wobbly flexed his camera as the "bendy girls" (Mark's words) did contortion and acro all over Mark's custom built Harley and my stock-is-cool-too Suzuki. The photo shoot has been a hit ever since.Read More »
While you might think the above quote describes women as passengers on motorcycles, truth is more women are actually owning motorcycles for their own riding purposes. In fact, the number of women riders in the U.S. has increased to about 7.2 million of about 27 million overall in 2009, according to a recent survey by the Motorcycle Industry Council, and this number of female riders is only expected to continue to uptick, especially since more women celebrities are stepping out.Read More »
2013 marked the 40th anniversary of Pirelli's calendar, but odds are you've probably never seen one in real life. Every year, Pirelli gathers a dozen gorgeous (Margareth Madè) and famous (Milla Jovovich) women and asks them to strip for the camera. The calendar prints are so few that even the most well-intentioned gentleman in the motorcycle industry, me, has yet to see a copy of this celebration of the female body.
For 2013, Pirelli has taken a whole new approach. The nude calendar is no more, and while we mourn its loss, we're excited about where this is headed. Pirelli hired photographer Stephen McCurry, dropped the idea of jaw-dropping babes, and drafted a roster of girl next door type belles doing awe-inspiring charitable work across the world for a serious of clothed portraits. The results are stunning all the same, as these women and Rio bare just enough to show why they're rising stars on a global scale.

The world is a better place when hanging upside down
Adrian at YouMotorcycle proposed the idea to me of writing an outsider’s perspective of motorcyclists.
As ignorant as this might sound, up until 3 months ago I didn’t think there was much of a motorcycle community, let alone an entire motorcycle world, but YouMotorcycle has opened up my eyes to something new to me.
Sometimes in life good things happens. Things you never could have imagined, like a girl doing handstand push ups in your condo asking you about doing a photoshoot on motorcycles. Did I mention she can put her feet behind her head?
I reached out to the world famous WobblyCat, an avid motorcyclist, photographer, and superhero. What followed was a full day's event, a first ever motorcycle photoshoot. Two girls on motorcycles doing very interesting things.
Hellcat Customs, a small, Arizona-based custom motorcycle builder is attempting to make history. Their passions include turbo-charging one-of-a-kind Sportsters and building custom sidecars. Now Hellcat Customs are blending the two — with the first-ever turbo-charged sidecar Sportster running a stock Harley engine on regular pump gas to attempt to set a land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats.Read More »
Sitting on a sunny patch of grass we saw her, in her highlighter pink gear. She climbed off after parking awkwardly. Her gear and her bike looked like they were either impeccably well kept, or hadn’t seen much road. I looked back to our helmets and bikes. They were stained, scratched and splattered. They were seasoned vets. Even my ex’s gear showed all the wear of many happy roads together. Their beauty was in their miles, not in their parking lot grassy hillside appeal.
My ex rolled her eyes as the girl left her bike. “I hate pink,” she declared.
As a female motorcyclist, what does pink gear mean to you?
I decided to do a little survey of some of my female motorcyclist blogging friends from across the world. The question was: "As a female motorcyclist, what does pink gear mean to you?". The results were as diverse as the women who wrote in. Read More »

Let's get a few facts out there from the very beginning: women in motorcycle advertising have been around forever, they will continue to be, sex sells now as much as ever, this industry is still largely male dominated, and I'm a marketing professional telling you that Mad Men is the most boring television show on the air. Unlike Mad Men, this post features beautiful women, while actually standing up for them, so whatever your gender or orientation you might actually enjoy reading it.Read More »
This week MOTORESS unveiled the new for 2012 International Female Ride Day logo. I've had the chance to meet with Vicki Gray of MOTORESS on a number of occasions. We've walked through the aisles of the International Motorcycle Show in Toronto, and shared coffees and drinks, I've even written about the glamourous female motorcyclist. International Female Ride Day is a MOTORESS initiating campaign aimed at highlighting the female motorcyclist and encouraging other women to take up the sport.Read More »
