Victoria Merideth Making It Happen

In early 2015 we first featured her on YouMotorcycle. Victoria Merideth was a twenty one year old aspiring dirt bike rider who described herself as “a broke kid with a crappy truck, no bike, and a passion for Moto.” She reached out in hopes we could help her find a sports modeling agency or somehow just find a way to kickstart her career in the motorcycle biz. Less than a year later she’s working in the motorcycle biz, got herself a Harley-Davidson Sportster, and is an active part of the motorcycle community. Victoria Merideth is making it happen, and it’s all good.

From our first interview with Victoria:

Let’s face it, the sport, the lifestyle, and the industry are all in need of more women. We’ve said it time and again, when women get involved in power sports, we take our little niche to the mainstream. Our voices double, we get heard, and we open up our favorite pass time, and our favorite lifestyle to families, and couples. When women get involved in power sports everyone wins.

YouMotorcycle: Since we last talked you’ve been all over the Arizona motorcycle community. Let’s start with GO AZ Motorcycles. Who are they, what do they do, and how did you get involved?

Victoria Merideth: GO AZ Motorcycles, Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale, and Spooky Fast Customs, are all owned by Bob Parsons and share the same marketing team. I’m on this marketing team, but my primary focus is event coordination for GO AZ Motorcycles. I use to be a receptionist at Spooky Fast Customs, after finding out our marketing team was hiring I applied, and I got the job!

YouMotorcycle: Way to seize the day on that opportunity! Where’s GO AZ at?

Victoria Merideth: GO AZ Motorcycles has two locations, one in Scottsdale and one in Peoria. In Scottsdale we carry Triumph, BMW, Ducati, Ural, Vespa, Kawasaki, KTM, Honda, and used bikes. In our Peoria store we carry Triumph, BMW, Ducati, and used bikes. Both of the GO AZ Motorcycles dealerships are stunning and have a top-notch staff. I’m extremely proud to put together events for these dealerships!

YouMotorcycle: We heard that there’s something really big coming to Scottsdale. What’s the scoop?

Victoria Merideth: HD of Scottsdale is opening a huge dealership this month. It’s absolutely gorgeous and will be one of the largest Harley-Davidson dealerships in the world. I love being a part of the Harley-Davidson family, and especially a part of the Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale family. We’ve got a great team of people making this beautiful new facility even better.

YouMotorcycle: You mentioned in our emails that you were hoping to start up a monthly motorcycle riding group. What’s the idea there?

Victoria Merideth: I haven’t told anyone much about it yet, but I’m hoping to put together a ride group that isn’t biased against any type of person or motorcycle, but instead focuses on bringing together moto lovers for a good cause. The general idea is to focus on one ride for one charity per month. I’m hoping to coordinate rides with local charity events, that way riders can participate in an event for the charity they’re supporting, and maybe even volunteer!

YouMotorcycle: When we sat down and talked in February you were just riding whatever motorcycle you could get your hands on. Now you’ve got yourself your own bike. Tell us about it.

Victoria Merideth: Recently I purchased a Sportster 1200 custom from Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale. When I saw this bike, I knew it was perfect for me and knew I had to make it mine. It was a fantastic decision. I ride my Harley every day, and since I bought it I’ve met a lot of incredible new friends and groups of people. I definitely plan on doing some changes/modifications to it in the future, but I bought it with a Vance & Hines exhaust system and a Screamin’ Eagle intake so those little modifications will hold me over until I save up some money to really put some work into it.

YouMotorcycle: You’ve been around the track for years now. What’s the story?

Victoria Merideth: I spent my high school days doing homework and working so that I could get my butt out to the the track every week. I come from a small town where the nearest prepped track is an hour away, and I trekked my way up there every Wednesday night all on my lonesome to catch some laps.

YouMotorcycle: That’s an excerpt from our first interview. Personally, it was one of my favorite parts because of the insight into your character that it showed. Are you still getting out to the races?

Victoria Merideth: Hopefully I’ll make it to some Supercross races this year. It’s a little bit difficult with my current job, but I’ve had such a great time as an intern and model for Strikt Slaton Yamaha and Neo Camera for the past several years. I plan on trying to make it to some Supercross events to lend them a helping hand. I might have a Harley now, but motocross is my first love and inspiration!

YouMotorcycle: You’re really getting to feel the full lay of the land of the motorcycle world.

Victoria Merideth: I’m hoping to continue to grow within the motorcycle community. I’ve been in the motocross industry my whole life and now that I’m learning a whole new side to two wheels, I can’t wait to become more involved in both the street and dirt moto world. I’m still enjoying modeling, and if any motorcycle companies need a model – let me know!

YouMotorcycle: Are you still riding dirt?

Victoria Merideth: I don’t ride motocross much anymore, (I will again someday) but when I get the chance I train with the best athletes in Arizona at the best gym there is. Da8 Training is an awesome training facility here in Arizona owned by one of the all time greats of desert racing, Destry Abott.

YouMotorcycle: What’s it like?

Victoria Merideth: There are a lot of moto riders that train there, and it keeps me feeling like I’m still a part of the motocross community. Destry Abott and his family are some of the nicest and most caring people I’ve ever met, and having a gym full of dirt bike enthusiasts makes me feel like I’m still a part of the motocross family a little bit!

YouMotorcycle: Eight months ago you answered this same question, and I’m asking it again. Who is Victoria Merideth right now?

Victoria Merideth: I’m still a broke kid, with a passion for moto. I still just want to ride, and be around bikes. I still want to inspire people involved in motorsports, to do their best, to stay positive and keep moving forward. My status in my company has changed a bit, but I’m still the same with the same goals. I want to be a positive impact on the moto community, and I’ll continue to work towards doing so.

Victoria’s making it happen. After our Q&A she told me that she had recently hosted a dog adoption event at GO AZ Motorcycles. It’s great to see good things happening for good people.
