What is Art?

And now for something completely unrelated. A buddy sent me a text:

Art is so hard to define. Art invokes emotion and engulfs the senses. Art captures the exact mood of a time and place, real or fake. Like a look, art can communicate with or without words. Like water, it can take any shape. Like love, it transcends time, space, gender, age, faith, and culture.

Art is the footprint of all of humanity, finding its way through a world of infinite wonder, with a finite amount of time.

Speaking of time… Sometimes words are art, too. Art is anything that captures the human experience and human expression.
Gatsby

What is art, to you?
